J-Pod With Granny and Ruffles!

Our guests spent the 4th with J-Pod Orca Whales. Stay tuned for updates from Naturalist Jami Nagel. What a wonderful 4th of July. Our guests were treated to a beautiful trip through the inner islands. We encountered J-pod in Haro strait near Stuart Island. Ruffles (J1) gave us his version of fireworks with 6 breaches, preparing us with a tail-lob before each spectacular breach. We also had some great looks at Granny (J2), the oldest female in the southern residence (99 yo) and the matriarch of J-pod. Our guests were also treated to 6 bald eagles, harbor seals with their pups on Spieden Island, pigeon guillemonts, rhinocerus aucklets, and harbor porpoise. -Naturalist Jami Nagel

We were there!!!! We were in Seattle on vacation over the 4th. This was the highlight of my vacation. I truly loved the experience. Better than fireworks for me. We got some great videos, alot of clean fresh air, and great stories to bring home to TN. Had a great time, would recommend this tour to everyone. Angela - Johnson City, TN
