We left the harbor and headed around Guemes Island and Cypress Island, where we found a few bald eagles and some harbor seals hauled out on some rocks. We crossed Rosario Strait and headed through Peavine Pass where we saw another bald eagle in a tree. We took a left out of Harney Channel and headed down Upright Channel. We heard news that the whales then turned and headed north so we went up San Juan Channel. We did a slow down near Spieden Island to check it out. As we rounded Henry Island and headed south down San Juan Island, we found some orcas! They were heading pretty fast up island, porpoising. We got some great looks as they all passed by Kellet Bluff. We saw Tsuchi, Shachi, Granny, Ruffles, Samish, Riptide, Suttles, Hy'Shqa, Se-Yi'chn and we even got a little surprise from Blackberry as we were leaving. We headed back through the inner islands and found some harbor porpoise in Spieden Channel. There was an osprey in its nest on Crane Island. It was such a gorgeous day on the water with flat water and beautiful sunshine!
