AM: "Near or far we navigate through the area to share with our guests the magic that only whales provide. Today we traveled FAR to show our guests a group of Transient Orcas. Under a blue sky and amazing conditions we found the T101's spread out in the Canadian Gulf Islands. Lucky for a few Harbor Seals, that were silly enough to stay in the water as these large cetaceans swam by, the four Orcas weren't hungry. For if they were these small penipeds could have possibly been on the menu!"

PM: " The evening lead us deep into the Strait of Georgia up near White Rock, B.C. where we found all three Resident pods moving slowly southward. Spread out over miles of water the whales could be seen gracefully swimming through the flat calm water! We visited with Matia (L77), her older brother Mega (L41) and Ocean Sun (L25). Captain Michael even shut down the engines to we could enjoy in the stillness of the night the sounds of their exhalations! The perfect ending to a beautiful day came as the sun set over the Canadian Gulf Islands as we ventured back towards home port. The liquid gold water highlighted the fast moving Harbor Porpoise that we encountered near Rosario Strait!" - Naturalist Kate Janes
